I’ll make this short and sweet. I don’t write enough about Vanderbilt sports to merit maintaining a site for it.
I will be blogging at Anchor of Gold. Here is my stuff presented as its own blog — when I feel ambitious, I’ll try to get the root of savetheshield.com to redirect [...]

Louisville and random thoughts
May 27th, 2009 · No Comments
This blog certainly isn’t dead — at least, I have no intent of end-of-lifing it — but I’ve felt hobbled for the past few months. Sometimes I feel passionate enough about a topic like Vanderbilt sports to write about it, and other times I just don’t. When I don’t, I [...]

Sorry for the outage
October 5th, 2008 · No Comments
Looks like I’m back.  The business associate I used to share hosting with decided to leave, and of course Murphy’s Law dictated it had to be on the day of arguably Vanderbilt’s biggest victory in a half-century.  (I suppose a couple of the 1982 or 1973 games might give it competition.)

Neither this blog nor its author is dead

I’m tepidly following VU spring sports. Baseball had started to catch my imagination until yesterday, but now they’ve dropped two straight to a Kentucky team that frankly hasn’t been all that great in SEC play. * The WYSIWYG editor in [...]

Help! Where did my pages go?
March 10th, 2008 · No Comments
I like this new WP theme called Clueless, sorta, but it appears to just omit presentation of WP pages, which is pretty essential if you’ve decided to store static articles in pages.
So here are my pages that are presently public, until I get around to hacking the theme to make it do right:
NYDore’s view [...]

Coming attractions

College sports are my bread and butter here, and it’s time for an obvious lull.  I should comment on the CWS, but it’s a bit too painful to think much about.  I’m glad to see that Rice is in the catbird seat in the tougher of the two brackets, and with [...]

Cowherd: I practically invented college football on ESPN (+ an important technical note)
April 23rd, 2007 · 3 Comments
First a housekeeping note: I’ve had it reported that posting a comment brings up a blank screen, and i also get this at times when i post or edit a post. I’ll try upgrading to the latest WP 2.0 and see if it’s a fixed issue, but if not then i may have to improvise [...]
